Procedure of Dental Implants

1. First Evaluation and X-Ray
· Take X-Ray and Oral examination to determine implant site and bone condition

2. Implant site preparation
· In the case of where there is still a tooth, remove it. Immediate implants can be done only after examining bone condition and no infection. If immediate implant is not suited, the treatment will be pushed forward until the area is healed for about few weeks to 2 months.
· In the case of insufficient bone structure, it is recommended to graft the bone. If the bone grafting is done moderately, the treatment will be pushed forward until the area is healed for about few weeks to 2 months.

3. Implant placement
· Embed the implant and suture the tissue

4. Healing Process (Osseointegration):
· Integrate the implant to heal with jaw bone. If immediate loaded implant is necessary, step 5 is done. Otherwise, the implant is left to heal for about 2 to 6 months before step 5 is done.
· Removal of suture seven to fourteen days after surgery

5. Abutment attachment
· Attach abutment to implant when the gum tissue is ready

6. Place Crown/Bridge or Overdenture
· Make crown/bridge or overdenture after taking the impressions
· If crowns/bridges opted, fix the implant over the post and cement it
· If overdentures opted, simply snap it to metal bars or balls
